Quality Construction

The Shire Berryfield Log Cabin is manufactured with 19mm thick tongue & groove cladding on the walls, and 10mm t&g floor AND roof. Two opening windows are supplied as standard on the larger model, and they can be positioned either side of the cabin and the door. This log cabin is supplied with heavy-duty, 34x62mm pressure-treated under-floor bearers as standard.

Only the best timber is used by Shire for production of their Log Cabins. Timber is imported from Russia and Sweden where trees are grown very slowly, resulting in the best material with less branches and therefore few knots. The timber is milled at Shire’s mill in Wisbech which means Shire are able to quality control timber from start to finished product.

Preservative

The Shire Log Cabin range is supplied un-treated, ready to accept any preservative colour of your choice. The under-floor bearers are pressure-treated (Tanalised) to prevent any rot.
